Alternative to IRAM Matching IRAM Capabilities Considerations
Seminars and webinars are favorite means of CCC&D training that is available. They can cost from $50-$300 per attendee A seminar typically covers one or two topics (Entitlements). IRAM includes the 8 most common CCC&D entitlements. To match what IRAM offers, a company would need to send two or more employees to 4-6 seminars, at a total cost of $4,000 – $7,500. And, if the employees leave the company, the knowledge is gone as well. Travel and lodging are usually required to attend a seminar, which must be coordinated around the attendees’ normal work. Not so with IRAM. Attendees will only remember a small percent of the seminar material days, weeks or months after the Seminar. IRAM’s content is available and readily accessible forever.
CCC&D books. tapes and other printed materials can cost from $50-$1,000 depending on the author and topic (s). As compared to IRAM material, a company would need a library of printed materials covering the eight entitlements at a cost of $1,000 – $5,000. A person would have to dig thru volumes of unrelated information to find the subject matter needed at the time. With IRAM’s interactive search capabilities, the needed information can be quickly searched, retrieved and printed.
A CCC&D expert can be hired at $100-$300 per hour for the duration of the project to monitor the day -to- day progress and make recommendations of claims avoidance measures during the performance of the contract If the CCC&D expert is hired part-time on a six month public construction contract of $100,000, the cost could be as high as $25,000, which would be more than the quantum on a winning claim. With IRAM, the user’s field existing personnel can identify and recognize any activities that could possibly become the basis for a claim, and avoid or manage the potential dispute during the performance of the contract.

With IRAM, you have the claims-avoidance tool in your hands. No need to hire an outside CCC&D expert at a cost that exceeds the value of the claim.
Contract with a CCC&D expert to assess your potential claim situation, at $100-$300 per hour. The primary function of IRAM is to provide all of the information required to determine if the basis for a valid FAR claim exists, based on the facts of the situation.

A CCC&D expert will spend as much as 75% of their total fee on determining whether the basis for a valid FAR claim exists, based on the facts of the situation.
With IRAM, the user is empowered to identify and analyze the unique factual situation of the project, and determine whether the basis for a FAR claim exist.

The IRAM user will also be able to estimate the quantum amount involved. Armed with this information, if the basis for a valid FAR claim exists, the user can now contract with the CCC&D experts and attorneys as needed to take the matter to court.
Do Nothing! Cost = $0.00

Do not purchase IRAM. Do not pursue any of the alternatives to IRAM. Do not hire CCC&D experts or attorneys.
IRAM Cost = $0.00

FACT: On a typical public construction project, 5% to 10% of the contract price will end up in dispute. For example, on a $100,000 contract, $5,000 – $10,000 or more will be disputed, and could possibly become a winnable formal claim.
A considerable amount of money ($5,000 – $10,000) could be left on the table if a winnable claim is not pursued.
